Pale Straw in colour, the bouquet of this elegant Chardonnay displays white fleshed stone fruit and poached pear characters with underlying hints of oyster shell and flint adding complexity.
The palate is medium bodied offering white peach, pome fruits, citrus and nougat. Fine boned in structure with a pithy grapefruit backbone the wine retains succulence and has a subtle creamy ‘al dente’ textural mouthfeel derived from lees stirring. The fruit intensity and wonderful natural acidity persist through to a lingering, moreish finish.
A modern, refined style of Chardonnay, displaying classic Margaret River hallmarks. The 2020 Stevens Road is a wine which, while drinking well in its youth will certainly reward with careful cellaring, developing further complexity from bottle maturation.
