Taylor’s Fine Ruby port is a blend of full bodied port wines aged for around two years in large oak vats in Taylor renown lodges in Vila Nova de Gaia.
The grapes used in the Fine Ruby blend are all from the Douro Valley, where Taylor’s Estate is situated. The grape types used are Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesa, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca and Tinta Cao. As the port wines age, they gain elegance and smoothness while retaining their fruitiness, intensity and youthful ruby colour due to limited aging. Once the wines are aged they ‘are blended together for balance and to keep the same consistency between all of Taylors Fine Ruby ports.
