Borrowing its name from the address on Gaelic Cemetery Road, Grant Arnold’s 20-year-old vineyard is situated at an altitude of 400 metres about 3 kilometres north of the township of Clare. The vines are planted with an easterly aspect in gravelly loam, limestone and red–yellow clay, and consistently crop at a miserly 1.9 tonnes per acre.

Super-inky and dense: the tannins and fruit are fused on the palate. The oak plays a significant role at this stage, perhaps another year or 2 will allow it to sink into the fruit. If you are chasing medium-weight red, then you might like to saunter on by this wine – it is huge; the fruit capable of much satisfaction. Drink to: 2028
